LPC has an extensive background in social scientific research that is informed by both the psychological and communication studies disciplines. LPC firmly believes that data can be a useful tool to understand phenomena. Unfortunately, data can also be twisted and shaped in an unethical way.

We believe that data is not a giant wall between the researcher and their question(s) of interest that allows the researcher to be objective and unbiased. Rather, data is a three foot wall where the researcher knows when they bump into it and they can then choose if they want to jump over that wall or not. At LPC, we believe a tremendous amount of damage occurs every time a researcher chooses to jump over that wall and we firmly strive to work with data in an ethical way that remains as objective as possible.
We can assist clients at any part in their process from clients who do not even know what questions to ask all the way to organizations that have already collected data, but are not sure how to make sense of it and everything in between. Below is a list of some commonly needed services that LPC provides.
- Project prep-work
- Creating systems to collect data and keep the project on track once it begins
- Developing hypotheses and/or research questions to guide the process
- Identification of target populations and methods to reach those target populations
- Planning project timelines and/or creating swimlanes to map out the process
- Survey question design
- Currently active projects
- Coordinating data collection efforts
- Troubleshooting problems that arise during the data collection efforts
- Project post-process
- Developing community outreach plans based on project findings
- Using IBM SPSS to perform statistical analysis on the data according to pre-planned analysis plans (LPC does not hunt and peck)
- Writing reports on the findings from the project
- Planning follow-up projects
